Portable XRF analyzer reading an alloy result against stamped pipe

Overview

We use a portable X-ray fluorescence analyzer to confirm the alloy of every part that matters, under an API RP 578 or equivalent program. Nothing is cut, ground or marked.

Technicians travel from Prince George, BC to test stock in the warehouse, before and after welding, and on failed components where the wrong alloy might be the root cause.

We can also determine the composition and likely specification of many unknown alloys, and audit installed components for improper alloy use.
